  1. that’s heartbreaking — first I heard they found him. Very sad.

  2. yep. i keep thinking it could have been me.

i live about an 8 hour or so drive from where they got lost. we head over that direction every year for vacation. i have a friend who lives in klamath falls. i would have left my family back at the car after 7 days to find help too.

i probably would have died too.

  3. Fancy that m3mnoch, I live 3 hours north of where he died.

Last night I was up til just after 1am contemplating every bit of information via the media, trying to piece together the situation. Undoubtably, any father, in that same situation, would have opted to leave after 7 days of watching your family slowly emaciate before your eyes. I just can’t figure out why he took the route he did…

It is an unfortunate loss, but I can’t help but wonder how, if I were in his situation, I would react differently and appropriately. Because I don’t want to be in his final situation, ever.

  4. i think he was doing the “water leads to civilization” thing. i dunno.

it’s cool you live that close tho. maybe i’ll shoot you an email next year when we swing over to the coast.
