PS3 Sexiness
just saw this on kotaku. whew. that’s sexy. maybe it’s just me, but i’m really liking the stuff jaren goh is doing. his (their?) design reminds me of a dark and evil anti-apple. maybe it’s all the black and silver.
anyway, that ps3 design is sexy. it has this… kinetic aspect to it. like, it’s constantly in motion — falling in some way. i think that kind of tension befits a console extremely well.
it looks like it’ll lay on its side just fine. just might not be able to stack anything on it. tho, who’d wanna?
man, i just dig that slope.

Well, I think it looks like a super-sized iPod, but with half the calories and less great taste. The slope is interesting, kinda like some PC LCDs I’ve seen now-and-then.
But, all that aside, I will vehemently agree that it is a huge leap forward from the “concept design” that Sony has been showing off since E3 last year. I would like to see his idea for the widely criticized PS3 “concept” controller as well. Shouldn’t be too hard to improve upon that design either.

Call me a fan, or tell me that I have weird tastes, but I like the fridge and the boomerang. I don’t want another “dual-shock”. Oh well, at least Dual-Shock won’t happen again, as Sony just got their ass sued.

Industrial design is a wonderful thing…when it includes function.
I don’t see how you could possibly cool such a PlayStation 3. High-end hardware can hardly be enclosed in such a tight box.
Secondly, Sony cannot pick a design that will please everyone. Their user base is way too diverse and large.
